Serial number:49773 probably built mid 1950s Nice silver plated baritone saxophone from France Straight toneholes,no dents, hardly dings, silverfinish intact for the greater part. The Dolnet M70 was a late model with high F#. Here is a review Dolnet M70 tenor saxophone review Made by Dolnet? Both SML and Dolnet are rather common here in Sweden. Most saxes that is here around is from the 50's. I've owned some Dolnets. The early BelAir from the late 40's or early 50's are IMO best. Look for the amber/red dots on the key. The record is much less complete after 1936. Instruments manufactured after 1936 range in serial number from 1350-3600. The log book shows the serial numbers jumping around quite a bit for the Selmer/Adolphe Sax saxophones. Even so, its possible from this record to assemble a basic serial number chart for these instruments. Dolnet Tenor Sax. I believe this is the Bel Air model. Serial number 46695C. I've searched, but can't find an exact year of manufacture (though I'd guess some time in the 1950s) Comes with hard case and 2 necks. I'll knock $50 off if you only want one neck. Does not come with mouthpiece. Yes, the Orsi has the same right hand spatulas, and the same octave system (side neck), like the Dolnet with F serial number, and the persons who owned it, told me it was from the 80's. And the engraving also has similarities, because the 70´s Dolnets have triangular motif engraving (like my soprano), and those two have a different design.

Cosmetically, these are known for their hexagonal keyguards. I haven't had one in here for a couple years, these 40's models are nice heavy horns, stronger metal than the Bel air model, with a big Conn type sound, that is warm and fat
